Procedures

Brow lift, or forehead lift, can be done Endoscopically or openly depending on the severity of the droopy eyebrows. This procedure is done when the eyelid surgery alone does not adequately open up the upper face. Dr. Heidari positions the eyebrows to a higher level by lifting the forehead skin and excising the excess if necessary. During this procedure, the frown (glabellar) lines will also either be drastically improved or eliminated.

The best candidates for a forehead/Brow lift are:

• Sagging or low position of the eyebrows creating a tired or sad appearance
• Deep horizontal creases across the forehead
• Frown lines, or furrows between the eyebrows and top of the nose.

Endoscopic is a surgical procedure that uses a tool called an endoscope, a special viewing instrument that allows your doctor to view images of the patient’s internal structures with minimal incisions. Endoscopic has been used in a number of different procedures, including gallbladder removal, tubal ligation, and knee surgery. Now the procedure is being used in plastic and cosmetic surgery, in lieu of techniques that may leave behind undesirable, or overly visible scars.

Some possible complications include infection, fluid accumulation under the skin, which may need to be drained, blood vessel damage, nerve damage (usually temporary) or skin injury.
